A Healing Heart for Clara

Hi Everyone!  I have created this page for my Mother-in-Law, Clara Oliveira.  As many of you are aware, Clara was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, called Malignant Mucosal Melanoma, about a year ago.  As mentioned, this is an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer that, despite rigorous treatments, has spread to other areas of Clara's body.  As a result, Clara has undergone several rounds of radiation and immunotherapy and continues to require time-consuming and uncomfortable treatments.  Anyone who knows Clara would attest to the fact that she is a very strong and remarkable woman.  Her fun, loving, and positive presence can place a smile on anyone's face.  She holds a close bond with her entire family and friends, and easily draws people in close to her with her nurturing demeanor.  She has an uncanny ability to breath positivity into many challenges; she remains strong for her husband (Carlos), children (Jason & Carina), and extended family and friends and will continue to fight each day against this heinous disease.  Despite her eagerness to fight, she unfortunately has been placed on disability, which is extremely difficult for her, as she has been committed and dedicated to her work and providing for her family her entire life.  The costs of these treatments is exorbitant and contributes to additional financial and emotional stressors that Clara and her husband (Carlos) must endure.  On June 6th, her family and friends have rallied together and organized a fundraising lunch at the Lusitana Club and would like to thank all you that have purchased tickets to the event - we are sold out!!  I have created this forum for those of you that are unable to attend, but would like to provide some support to this remarkable woman, can do so.  Any contribution will help Clara and her family on this journey to recovery.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and know that Clara and her family are beyond gracious.   XOXO
