YWAM Compassion DTS 2014

The DTS (discipleship training school) portion of my YWAM (youth with a mission) adventure will be based on the Cook Islands. Just because it is on an island does not mean I will be on vacation. Although living surrounded by beach is definitely a bonus. Anywho, a DTS is 12 weeks of training and the one I am going to has a compassion emphasis. This means that we spend more time ministering to people. I hear from the people who live there that there is a very high rate of teen suicide and teen pregnancy. I'm not sure exactly what we will be doing, but I can't wait to find out!

After the 12 weeks of training we will be going on 9 weeks of outreach to a surrounding area. The exact location has not been decided yet, but the options sound very exciting!

I cannot wait to see how the Lord uses this time in my life!!!

Oh, the funds will cover my whole time there:
airfare (for the DTS and for outreach)
visas (for the DTS and for outreach)
food, lodging, transportation, and books during the DTS
laundry
everything for the 9 weeks of outreach
Basically, everything I will need to pay for while there.
