Cancer's Return

In August 2017 my husband was diagnosed with Relapsed Classical Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  After 9 years in remission, this was a rare occurrence.  The timing could not be worse.  My husband is very settled in his career, but took a promotion in another city causing us to move in July.  On September 1st, I gave birth to our first child after 9 years of marriage; the first child for either of us.  There is a chance my husband will miss out on large portions of his son’s life in the next 6 to 8 months for treatment, which consists of chemo and a transplant.  To add more to this, there were some minor complications with the pregnancy, but happily our son is healthy.

A new job, a move, a complicated pregnancy and cancer having returned is putting us in a financial situation we never expected to be in.  When the complications first started, I was able to leave my job, leaving my husband as our sole provider and now with the little one here, and my husband’s cancer returning, he will not be able to work full time and I am unable to return to work.  We are asking for help.

The biggest issue we face are the unexpected medical bills associated with complications following the pregnancy and emergency visits for my husband during treatment.  We are also concerned he will become so sick, that he will no longer be able to work and that means a loss of income and medical benefits that would take months to recover under other programs (new enough to the job he has no leave and qualifies for very little).

His employer is working with him the best they can which is wonderful, but it still does not completely relieve the financial burden we are facing.  While our fundraising goal is high, we are planning for the absolute worst case scenario, and praying for the best.  If you can help, you will have no idea how much it would be appreciated.
