A Fresh Start For A Friend

Nikki, my best friend of 17 years, and her 3 year old daughter, Phoenix, need support to start over. They are moving from Queens, NY to Raleigh, NC to gain a new start. Nikki and Phoenix moved to NY in April because they were promised love, support, and a future with Phoenix's father. Those promises have been tragically broken and Nikki needs to relocate to keep herself and her daughter safe. She is going to live with me for a few months while she solidifies a new job, child care, and other necessities. Nikki has already begun the process of doing those things, but the struggle remains to be moving expenses. It's costly to move 500+ miles. She will be making the trip on her own with her daughter. Expenses include: truck rental, gas, tolls, hotel, food, storage, and other expenses related to preparing Nikki and Phoenix for a new living situation.



Nikki is a very strong women who has never before asked for financial support. She has always worked very hard, multiple jobs at one time, and up to 80 hours a week. Nikki is in a situation where, without the financial support of others, the "system" will fail her and her child for removing themselves from an unsafe environment. She has exhausted all resources and at this point, she needs to remove herself and her child from the current situation.
