Introducing CuddleCubs, a new global charity based off of UCLA's "Make Surgery Bearable" program. CuddleCubs is dedicated to improving the quality of life of low vision children, and does so by giving stuffed animal bears to pediatric patients undergoing surgery along with other children in need. Giving these kids teddy bears gives them hope and makes them feel better when faced with adversity, and gives them a new stuffed friend they can treasure throughout their childhoods. CuddleCubs is based in Los Angeles, California through Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, but also expands outward to cities on the East Coast, and even goes as far as Brazil and the Philippines.
Founding a charity, however, is expensive-- the startup fee is $1500 alone, not to mention the cost of buying the actual teddy bears. We also just wrote a CuddleCubs picture book to help children cope with low vision, but getting it published costs a lot. (Plus, it's been translated into Braille!)
For just $10, you can provide one child with a bear and a book.
For $100, you'll help ten children.
Most of these kids have never had toys before, and they love receiving a teddy bear. Check out our website to read more about us and to see pictures of children enjoying their CuddleCubs.
