Agyei’s Body Dysmorphia Fund

Donation protected
Hey Everyone, I hope this message finds you all in good spirits. Let me introduce myself. My name is Agyei Encarnacion, I am 20 year old and from New York and I am starting this campaign to seek financial assistance during these very troubling times that we are all in.

I previously have been diagnosed with body dysmorphic disorder due to a botched gender affirming surgery performed by a doctor. This surgery was very expensive so I took a loan out because I knew that it would better help me deal with my dysmorphia. While this surgery felt like it would be positively impactful it has just caused more strain and this is why I am now coming to you all. For more specific information please continue reading.

I have gynecomastia, which means that my body produces extra hormones which has lead to me developing breast tissue behind the nipple. In order to initially combat this I lost over 50 pounds and even though I went through this transformation there was still little to no change with my chest. Due to my body producing breast tissue rather than fat it cant be burned off or turned into muscle. I decided to move forward with the procedure in order to deal with my dysmorphia more effectively. I initially turned to family for help but I was left to carry this financial challenge on my own.

In this surgery my doctor used liposuction as a technique to reduce my chest. This is fine but he unfortunately did not have even results, one is much flatter than the other. This has caused my dysmorphia to spike even more and has made me more insecure.

I know my story is not the most relatable but none the less this is still very difficult and could use your support. I am a twenty year old student who is currently in school and working two jobs in order to be financially independent. This botched surgery loan has continued to add more strain to my life on top of the other factors that affect my dysmorphia, such as the constant need to wear compression garments, the continual misgendering within my workplace, the emotional strain of having to live with this botched procedure, and the stress of knowing how this could effect my dream of working in the modeling world.

This is why I am now looking to people like you to assist me. I am not the type of person to put myself in a vulnerable position but I know that if I don’t ask for help I won’t receive it. I am trying to raise 15K in order to help me pay off this loan and continue to deal with my dysmorphia in a way that is productive and effective. I would greatly appreciate if you can donate to this campaign to help me make this a reality for myself. If donating is difficult please consider sharing this on your social media platforms so this can gain traction. Thank you so much for reading my story and considering to give to me!
