Hi! My name is Rachel. When I was 12, I was diagnosed with leukemia. I edured 2 long years of chemo and radiation treatments as well as several chest tunes, removal of a portion of a long, a bone marrow transplant and more. Statistically I should not be alive today. My dream since I was young was to be a mom and to see what beautiful child I could create. Well, that reality seemed doomed after going through clinical menopause at the age of 13.
14 years later and I am happily married and ready to start a family. I have known for a long time that starting a family in the traditional fashion was not going to be an option. After visiting a Fertility clinic, the reality of bearing my own child seemed possible. My sister agreed to donate her eggs and a plan was made. But this whole process is not covered by insurance and is very expensive. This dream seems just out of reach because of money.
Im not typically quick to ask for help, especially when it involves money. Please, any little bit will help fund our dream of starting a family.
