The Sena Family of Arvada, Colorado, experienced the unexpected loss of Alex, a beloved husband to Sharon and devoted father to their adult son. On the evening of January 16, 2023, in a little over an hour, Alex went from enjoying a television show with his family to suffering a sudden health event that ended in his tragic death.

Emergency services were called to the home when Alex began experiencing shallow breaths, clamminess, and confusion. Sharon and her son witnessed the paramedics in the ambulance administer advanced life-saving techniques to Alex in an attempt to restore breathing and a heartbeat. In a hopeful moment, a pulse was restored, and the ambulance transported Alex to the local hospital. Sharon and her son followed. Shortly after their arrival, they were met by the hospital Chaplain who gave them the sad news that Alex had died.

The following day, Sharon wrote this about her husband, Alex: “Yesterday our Superman flew to the heavens and joined the angels. We are eternally grateful for our time with him and feel blessed to have had him share his grace with us on this wonderful planet. Larger than life, bright as the sun, teacher extraordinaire, outstanding artist, science enthusiast, cat Daddy, wonderful Father, and devoted husband. His eternal light shines brightly and continues to warm our hearts and souls. Love you, Alex P. Sena. Holding you close, always! ��”

In addition to this tragic loss, the Sena family has also experienced some recent challenges. On the first snowstorm of the season, the heating system in the family home stopped working and remains in disrepair. Also, Sharon is months away from completing her educational goals to obtain credentials to advance her career and had to temporarily put things on hold to prioritize Alex’s funeral arrangements. While she is determined more than ever to complete her goals while working full time, the loss of Alex, including the loss of his financial contribution to the family, along with the unexpected costs associated with Alex’s funeral has put an enormous strain on the already stressed family budget.
