David Padilla's Bucket List

Donation protected

This is David; he is 19 and has been fighting cancer for the last year and a half. David was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma a rare bone cancer in his left leg (tibia) in October 2012, his senior year of high school.

David’s passion was baseball. He was looking forward to playing in college and maybe in the pros.  David started having knee pain in his left leg after having a successful summer of playing ball.  At the beginning of his high school fall ball season, David’s first at bat was his last.  David hit a double, but could only make it to first base and after that, David took himself out of the game because of extreme pain.

We took David to an Orthopedic and had an x-ray done and that’s when our nightmare began.  David was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and within days started chemotherapy.  He had chemotherapy till January and then had surgery to remove his tumor.  They removed six inches of his tibia just below the knee and replaced it with a donor bone and began chemo soon afterwards for the next 7 months.

David’s Chemotherapy was cut short because of the weakening of his heart from the chemo.  For the next few months, David had physical therapy and was doing well.  Then, on his six month appointment post-cancer, they found a tumor in his lung.  Since then, he has had multiple surgeries to remove tumors in his lung and in his soft tissue.  Last week, they found another tumor in his lung and a tumor in his kidney.  He currently has three tumors that will need to be removed.  David has started chemotherapy again to try to stop the spreading of his cancer, but it is being very aggressive.   There is a limit to the amount of surgeries the doctors will perform to remove the tumors. Hopefully, this round of chemotherapy will do the trick. We are praying to God to cure David of this horrible disease.

We are asking for donations to help make David’s life a little better while he continues to battle cancer. We want David to enjoy his life to the fullest and your prayers and donations will help make it happen.

If you cannot donate, please pray for David and spread the word about Osteosarcoma. This rare cancer does not get enough awareness, and we hope someday a cure can be found.
