Hare Krishna!

I'm Indradyumna Swami from Vrindavan, India. I have initiated this campaign on behalf of Agnideva Das who has been my friend for over 40 years.

This is an urgent appeal to devotees all over the world.

On October 14, 2017, His Grace Agnideva das, a most beloved devotee and servant of Srila Prabhupada was rushed to a hospital in Sydney with a collapsed lung, and was deemed 'gravely ill' by the doctors there. Unfortunately his conditioned necessitated that he be placed in an induced coma in ICU, as his lungs were not functioning properly, as well as there being possible cardiac issues.

To most people, he needs no introduction - his voice has been heard in homes and hearts all over the world for over 40 years. Prabhu has spent his entire life serving the holy name and endeavoring to share it with others. He is a jewel amongst kirtan leaders, and his pure kirtan and bhajan have the capacity to awaken devotion in the hearts of everyone. He inspires young and old alike, and always takes time to befriend and encourage devotees wherever he goes.

He has a deep and seasoned understanding for the songs of the Vaishnava acaryas. He sings them at every opportunity and his contribution to the kirtan world is unique in this regard.

Initially, he was on ventilator as he was unable to breath on his own. He was sedated because of the discomfort caused by a breathing tube. Through transesophageal echocardiography, doctors found that the mitral valve in his heart was leaking ( a prolapse ) leading to the buildup of fluid in his lungs.

On Oct 28, doctors conducted a CT scan of Agnideva’s chest. Amazingly after this test the lung drainage system showed zero fluid. As a result, the doctors removed the drainage pump with tubes from his lungs. They also stopped administering oxygen. He was happy to have his first shower in 2 weeks as well as have some ice, water and juice. On Oct 31, he was moved out of ICU and into the Respiratory ward.

After that he was very conscious for a few days, aware and cognizant and spoke a lot about Lord Nityananda’s mercy. He stood up and moved his feet forward and backward 10 times. However, on Nov 13, a CT scan showed that fluid had started to accumulate in his lungs again. He vomited a large clot of blood. His doctors became concerned and stopped all intake of food and liquids, and put him back on an IV drip. In addition to the faulty Mitral Valve in his heart, he has a clogged LAD artery [ the main artery serving the heart. ] and another smaller blocked artery in his heart as well. So, they transferred him back to ICU for an open heart surgery.

On Nov 17, Agnideva Prabhu had a double bypass heart surgery. The doctors said that the operation was successful and without any complications. He will be in an induced coma until Nov 19 and will be kept in ICU for one or two weeks to help him recover.

Unfortunately he had not been traveling with insurance, and the hospital bills are mounting up. The ICU costs approximately US $6,000 per day while the special ward costs $4,000 a day. The initial treatment during the last month along with the open heart surgery and recovery expenses is estimated to cost US $180,000.

We beg you to please give from your heart to support this precious devotee in a time of great need. The funds will be used for paying the hospital bills of Agnideva Das. Agnideva Prabhu's son Sadbhuja Marsden who is based in Oregon, USA has volunteered to receive the donations in his bank account and will take charge of working with the hospital to pay the bills in collaboration with my students in  Australia Sakhi Rai Das and Sundarananda Gopal Das.
