Michael's artistic expressions back

Donation protected

My name is Janet Pearce and I am raising money for my husband to be able to get his CNC machines up and running again.

Michael has been a talented commercial artist for many years now.  About 15 years ago he embraced the technology of cnc machining.  He loved this work more than anything.  Several years ago due to personal crisis, Michael had to sell off quite a bit of his equipment.

Michael recieved a diagnosis of high functioning Autism in 2010.  The diagnosis has been a big relief and a bit bitter sweet for him as well.  Michael has always tried to fit in and somehow, always felt like he didn't .  As the years have gone on,  due to his Autism, it has become very difficult for him to work outside of the home.  This is a great challenge for him he is still sharp as a tack and capable of doing the work, but the sensory issues that people on the Autism spectrum experience challenge him greatly in the work place.  He wants a purpose and he wants to be a financial contributer for his family.  He has so much more talent to share with the world and without the equipment it will never be so.

The funds will be going towards getting his cnc machine retro fitted with a new controller, machining materials and drill bits.

I am launching this campaign prior to Michael's Birthday on March 2nd.  I think it would be the perfect Birthday gift to him.  I really do think that more than the money raised, Michael will be touched beyond belief to see that people care.

Once the funds are raised he will be able to get his machines fully operational and offer his expert services to quite a few companies and people who have been inquiring about the rare services he offers.

The picture I have posted depict just a small view of some of the design  work and wax machining  Michael has done in the past.   Quite often the client will submit a chicken scratched sketch of an idea or a simple verbal explanation.  Michael then takes the design concept and builds/sculpts the model in the computer.  He then sends the information to the mill and cuts out the wax models.  The final step is to send the wax models to the metal caster who molds the wax and finally shoots the metal into the mold and produces the final piece.  The blue and green models shown below are the wax models machined by the mill.  The silver/gold pictures are the final product assembled and polished in metal.

I am in awe of the quality of work he is capable of producing.  This is an opportunity for me to help someone in need of a purpose.  It's heartbreaking to see all of this talent and skill go untouched.  He has so much more to give and deserves the chance to have a purpose in his life.

I am not one to usually ask for help, but it would be a huge gift and for that, I am willing to step out of my comfort zone.
