Age Difference

Donation protected
Hi my name is Nick Dimondi and I'm a filmmaker in Atlanta, Georgia. I completed my first short film "WITHER" in 2016. It was an incredible experience that changed my life. I have written a new story and am trying to raise funds to shoot my second short film Age Difference.

Age Difference is a dark comedy set in a dingy hotel room. A middle aged man has traveled from out of town in order to rendezvous with a teenage girl. We only hear his side of a cell phone conversation as he gets settled into his room. His plans hit a wall when things start going wrong. It seems like everything in the room has turned on him to make this encounter NOT happen...

BUT what we come to realize is this man is not who we think he is. He's a broken man, traveling on his last dime to meet the daughter he never knew he had; to try and do one thing right with his life...to be a father.

Why am I making this film?

I wanted to make a film that challenges our impulse...my impulse... to judge people so quickly, especially in our modern day outrage culture.

I also wanted to make a film showing the importance of fatherhood. Masculinity is a hot topic these days, but what does it mean to be a father? There is a fatherhood famine happening in the United States and the importance of loving, teaching, supportive fathers has never been greater. The data is sobering.

I can't make this film without you being on the team and getting involved.

How can I get involved?

You can get involved in three ways:

1. Give - money to this campaign
2. Share - this campaign across social media, email and word of mouth
3. Join the team - and work on this movie (spots are limited)

The film will be shot in one location in Atlanta GA. The crew are all working professionals that are selflessly giving their time to make this story happen. I'm simply raising money to cover a few hard costs like:

1. Casting services
2. Art Department supplies
3. Food for the cast/crew
4. Location fees
5. Production Insurance

Any money raised over the $2000 budget will go towards better gear rentals and festival fees.

We are planning on shooting in Late March 2019.  In order to get the insurance paperwork, props and equipment rentals secured in time to shoot, we will need to have the necessary funds available by March 4th. This means the GoFundMe campaign will effectively end on March 1st.

Financially supporting short films is one of the most gracious and impactful way to support the arts. Giving money to this film would mean a lot not just to me but would bolster the growing community of filmmakers in the south who are making films with a positive message.

Even if you cannot give, sharing the campaign with friends and family via social media, email or even word of mouth will be a tremendous help.

My sincerest gratitude

Nick
