13% of Canadians live in a state of food insecurity, adults, children youth and even UBC students make up that 13%. Alpha Gamma Delta's fight against hunger hopes to reduce this percentage through philanthropy across Canada. To focus on our philanthropic effort, the fight against hunger! Proceeds from AGDillas support fighting hunger, education, leadership development and more, through the AMS Foodbank and the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. The AMS Food Bank supports UBC students and staff who are in need of emergency food-relief. Available year round, we supply people who are food-insecure with access to food, household products and personal hygiene products up to six times per semester. The Food Bank relies on the hard work of volunteers to keep operations running smoothly, and generous donations from the Vancouver community to keep its shelves stocked. Give when you can, and take when you need – so that members of our community do not need to worry about where their next meal is coming from.
