Needing a Car

My partner and I are struggling to make enough money to be able to start living on our own. We only have one car and both have to go to the same job because of it. This job was the only one that would accept us both and make our schedule work, however it pays poorly and provides hardly enough hours to keep us afloat. 

My partner's sister is willing to sell us her spark for $2500, whole payment upfront. I've been trying really hard to save up for it but now our current car is reaching the end of its life. It's begun to break down, and we desperately need this new car just to be able to keep going to work. 

My hopes are that our old car will last long enough for us to get higher paying jobs to be able to make a stable savings and get our own apartment. Maybe then we could use the old car as a down payment for a new old, once we both have high enough paying jobs to be able to afford the insurance and monthly payments on them.
