Arrows Out Community Meal July 2014

Donation protected
Our mission with our Community Meals is to create a loving, accepting atmosphere for people of all walks of life to come together and enjoy a good family-style meal and conversation.  We invite the homeless, the "needy," people who can't afford to make it until the end of the month on their food budget, or just people looking for company and a nice meal in a comfortable atmosphere.  Our goal is to provide a place for people to feel welcome- as if they were invited guests, coming over to our home for a meal and company.  Food served on real dishes, eaten with real silverware.  We want to spread the love of Jesus the way we believe He would- through love, acceptance and compassion.

Our first Community Meal was June 14 and it was a great success- we were able to feed approximately 30 people some fantastic food in an intimate setting.  We also were able to give a bunch of leftovers to the men at the Men's Mission in Everett (they were very grateful!) We hope to at least double, if not triple, the attendance at our next meal on July 12, 2014!  However, we need some help to make that happen.

After the first meal, we identified some items that we still need to purchase (more to-go boxes/bowls, extra soup bowls, a step stool, to-go coffee cups with lids, etc.). There is also the cost of the meal- July's meal will include smoked pork butt and smoked chicken thighs, homemade mac and cheese, baked bean soup, cornbread, green beans, salad and assorted desserts.  In addition, we need to purchase some coffee and condiments and some (iced) tea.  We want to have a "traditional" bar-b-que feel.  (The Pacific Northwest isn't lacking much, but good bar-b-que is definitely one thing it is lacking...at least to this "Southern" girl!)

We would greatly appreciate all the help we can get in making this meal (and more to come) a fantastic, memorable event.  Our hope is to make this a monthly event to help those that need it the most in Snohomish, WA.  We believe our meal is unique in its attempt to be more than feeding the bellies of our attendees- we want to feed their soul and their spirit and to help change their lives, even a little.  Please believe that no gift is too small- a little goes a long way!  Also, we are currently working on applying for 501(c)(3) status, so stay tuned for information on your gift being tax deductible!  Again, thank you so much for considering our project and any gift you find in your heart to give.  If you can't give right now, please consider sharing this gofundme with anyone you think may be interested in helping!
