After the Fire
Donation protected
Three days ago, Feb 19th, my daughters house burnt due to a faulty wood stove pipe. Pretty much everything they own was lost. The fire destroyed the kids bedrooms which were upstairs, the livingroom and part of the kitchen. The master bedroom was spared from the flames but due to smoke very little was salvagable. The garage where my son in laws tools and mechanic things were was pretty much ok. The red cross gave them 3 days in a motel, and we have seen an outpouring of donations in houshold things and clothes. My grandson is special needs and lost everything for his sensory well being, things like his weighted blanket he uses to help him sleep. Kaydyn is 5 and is terrified now, he is fine during the day but once the sun sets he tells him mom the house is a monster. My only wish for this family is to get them into a home where little Kaydyn can feel safe. As of today they are homeless, they will be sleeping on friends couches for a while. My daughter lives just north of Spokane Washington, the Valley area, Deer Park. I live in Texas and can do nothing to comfort her except this.
The fire dept would not respond due to the house being out of the fire district, the sheriff responded and one ambulance, but they could only stand and watch as my daughter her husband and neighbors put out the fire with garden hoses and buckets. Due to this my daughter was at the ER last night with chest pains brought on by exhaustion and diminished lung caused by breathing the smoke. My son in law fell through the burnt floor and has not sought medical help yet.
This site is set up for the sole purpose to help them get into a home and offset the cost of rent for a bit until they can get on their feet again.
I am forever grateful to all the people that can help or just share this page on social media.
Thank you, a grateful Mother.
