<div>Now, I find myself in a hard place. I never planned to be living in the U.S. — my home is in Haiti. But gangs have taken over, looting everything from our properties down to the beach. The Kaliko neighborhood is now a ghost town.

<div>Here in the States, my savings are gone and support has dried up. Add to that congestive heart failure and four surgeries in the last six years, and it’s been a battle just to keep moving forward.

<div>Events are in motion to turn things around but they have been interrupted, only delayed by recent events.
