AbracoDC, the Afro Brazilian Cultural Organization of Washington, DC, Inc., is pleased to announce plans for its annual Festival Afro Bahia in Washington, D.C., U.S.A. between June 8 and 11, 2017.
The Festival is an educational and entertainment showcase designed to allow you to experience the vibrant sights, sounds, tastes, and spirit of the state of Bahia in northern Brazil.  Our week of events  includes workshops of capoeira, dance & music, performances, food tasting, panel discussions, art expositions, film screening,  and more. All activities will be led by world renowned instructors.

Bahia:  Bahia is definitely, the land of happiness, its nature wonders, its culture, its people and also its food and spiritual traditions are fruits of the miscegenation of the, Africans, the Indigenous and the European who connected there, generating a magical, involving and mysterious ball catalytic of energy.

 The Festival is an educational event giving the public low-cost/no cost opportunities to experience the culture of the Brazilian state of Bahia, including traditions deeply rooted in the African ancestry of its people.
