---- ABOUT ME ----

My name's Gianluca, born and raised in Italy but always had a thing for travelling. Since I left  Italy more than 10 years ago, I wasn't able to stop, maybe looking for something,  maybe escaping from it. This time though, I want to travel for a different reason. I will go through many African countries and visit small villages, mainly schools and orphanages and try to help the best I can.

---- CURRENT STORY ----

After visiting a few orphanages, I met the director of the former BCM (Butiki Children Ministry). He has been helping needy children, both orphans and children with a difficult family situation for long time. He's dream has always been to build a school.
Before I travelled to Africa this was also my dream.
As Nelson Mandela says, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Education is the key to eliminating gender inequality, to reducing poverty, to creating a sustainable planet, to preventing needless deaths and illness, and to fostering peace.
We immediately started sharing some ideas and the next day 3 feet down the ground our dream was having a place for its foundations.

---- PREVIOUS STORIES ----

Uganda
After my experience in Kahama I was contacted by a woman named Nangobi Zahara from Uganda
Nangobi lost both her parents when she was only 5, she was raised in an orphanage so she knows how those kids struggle to survive. Her and Martin do everything possible to help them, providing basic needs like food, clothes and some school material.
Right now they are renting a place but that's not big enough for all the kids so some sleep here and some spend the day then go back to their grandparents or other relatives for the night.
One day she reached out to me, asking if Uganda was on my travel plan... I didn't need anything else to add Jinja as one of my destinations...

Tanzania

Teacher Sule is a young teacher from rural Tanzania. When he was a kid and lost his father he found himself fighting for hunger everyday. He was living in the street like many children here.
His dream was building a school where the orphans of his village would have a home and a family.
A place where they can have food and education, where they can feel safe and have a normal life, a place where they won't lose their right to smile.
Today, after a lot of struggling, his dream came true.
In August 2017 he was able to buy a small piece of land and started building the school.
The challenges were countless and now, he's facing one of his biggest. As of today he has 35 kids, three classroom but no place to sleep. Some of them sleep in the classrooms, some of them in the office...and there is just not enough space for everybody. The government told him they need a dormitory, or they might need to close down.

Please help me raise the money for Sule and for the kids.
Thank you
