MARYLAND COUNCIL OF ELDERS Baltimore, Maryland
25 APRIL 2022

DEAR LEADERSHIP COUNCILS:
I am a Co-Chair of the Maryland Council of Elders, and we are having a Community Event that has been in existence for over 25 years. The Maryland Council of Elders is hosting AFRICAN LIBERATION DAY this year on SUNDAY MAY 29, 2022, in Baltimore, Maryland.

We know of ALL the health challenges due to the COVID lockdown that continues on some level; we find there is a much elevated need to bring people together with a heightened awareness of Empowerment, Motivation, Inspiration, Encouragement, and Hope to them and their communities. We ALL know that your “HEALTH IS YOUR WEALTH.” Health is Mental, Spiritual, Physical, Emotional, and Economical.

We invite you to donate toward this fundraiser for "ALL THE RIGHT REASONS.

THERE WILL BE INFORMATION ON
• Wellness programs (smoking cessation, exercise, and nutrition information)
• Educational health opportunities and locations
• Information on Support groups
• Community screenings, such as High Cholesterol, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease, Sickle Cell
• Faith and health program with area churches
• And any other Health Awareness that you know is needed, we invite you to bring that information to be placed on the “INFORMATION TABLE.”

Screenings and Health Awareness is crucial and critical at this time, and we need your help in bringing this awareness to the community; you will have the opportunity to save a life with your words or information. What better medicine is there when you have begun to lose faith and hope in fighting successfully for justice than to see “OUR PEOPLE” Gathered in UNITY!

Please "DONATE" and join the Maryland Council of Elders as we Celebrate the Communities everywhere “FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS” on Unifying the Community by organizing all that is needed for greater awareness mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally, economically, and creatively.

This event will have vendors, performances, speakers, a children’s festival tent, African Dance, Drumming, food, and health screenings.

WE NEED ADDITIONAL FUNDS:

1). For a bus to bring University students from Washington, DC to Baltimore and Back to DC

2). A Moon Bounce for the Children (there are always many children that are with their families present)

3). Rental of Porta Pottties
