Our first week we'll be meeting with Labor Leaders with the Labor Federation in San Juan, CWA, and the Teacher's Union to help document the labor struggle taking place including the push to privatize the school system, to gut workplace standards, and to lower the minimum wage from $7.25 to $4.25 an hour.
Our second week we'll be travelling to various parts of the island to work with Mutual Aid societies, feminist groups, and more.
We plan to load at least two suitcases with supplies to deliver down there in addition to donations we're soliciting directly to support the organizations we're partnering with. We'd love to raise enough money to be able to bring a substantial amount of supplies.
Luminaid is giving us a very good discount on solar lanterns if we order in bulk. We can order up to 499 at a little less that $10 each.
Similarly REI is giving us a discount to order Katadyn Micropur Water Purification Tablets and Be Free Water Filter Bottles.
