Afghan Refugee Fund of Nebraska

The tragic unfolding of events in Afghanistan have been on the hearts and minds of many Nebraskans. For the past 40 years, the Afghan-American community has been an integral part of the social and cultural fabric of this great state, from work with the University of Nebraska’s Center on Afghanistan Studies to cashiers at the local Walmart. We have been living The Good Life in Nebraska, and we have been so grateful to call this our home.

We ask to have that same opportunity presented to our family members and allies of the united states who served our armed forces and who are trying desperately to flee violence and persecution in Afghanistan, especially women, children, ethnic minorities, and those who have served the US government in many capacities over the 20 years of conflict. As incoming refugees resettle in our communities, we call on our neighbors to help support these individuals and families who have fled their homes for a safer life. 

We will use donated funds for essential items or whatever is immediately needed by the individuals/families who arrive:

Immediate food and toiletries
Medical supplies
Cookware
Linens
Rental assistance
Clothing and baby essentials
Travel Expenses
$575 application fee for Humanitarian parole.
We want to show what true American, mid-Western hospitality and generosity looks like, and your support will help make for a smoother transition to their new home.
