Rebecca Seelinger Scholarship Fund

Rebecca Rose was killed in a tragic car accident on October 24, 2013. This fund is being set up to provide a college scholarship in her memory. We are holding various fund raisers throughout the year in an effort to keep her memory alive by providing some monetary assistance with college expenses. Rebecca was a 2013 graduate of Union City High School. She was attending Mercyhurst University Northeast Campus, studying Criminal Justice/Forensic Science.  She was a proud supporter of all military branches and especially proud to tell people about her two brothers, Kevin & Jeremiah, actively serving in the ARMY.  She participated in Yellow Ribbon ceremonies as well as leadership conferences in support of her brother Kevin during his deployment over seas.  She was active in sports and played various musical instruments but especially loved anything percussion. She played both bass drum and quads in her high school marching band, the Union City Bears.  She loved her dog Alpine, Hello Kitty, owls & zebras.  She loved to be called Aunt Becca or Aunt BooBoo by the nieces and nephews she loved so very much.  She anxiously awaited the arrival of her first biological nephew, Max.  A nephew she never got to meet but shines upon him every day in many ways.  She was crazy, silly, outgoing and loving.  She is missed and loved by many.  Her death left a void in many lives, especially her family and close friends.  It is our hope to provide this scholarship annually to one or two deserving students entering the field of Criminal Justice/Forensic Science.
