medical bills for Amy

With a heavy heart we have to ask for help. My wife Amy was just diagnosed with ductal carcinoma (breast cancer) today. We are facing a difficult financial road ahead.
As most of you know I am a tattoo artist without any insurance and have to pay out of pocket for all of our medical expenses. As much as I hate to say it we will be applying for medicaid and hopefully will get approved due to the circumstances.
We have some tests coming up in the next two weeks that will range in the price of 3,000 and that is our first hurdle to overcome. They are doing genetic testing and also a PET scan to see if the cancer has spread (God willing it hasn't). Since she is so young ( 31 ) they want to test for a genetic cancer gene and if she is a carrier they will do a double masectomy because the cancer will just continue to come back. That is a financial hurdle we will have to jump if it comes to that. But for now we are just taking it one evolution at a time.
I know that most everyone out there is in financial crisis because of the state of the economy. Thats why I hate to ask for help from others but I have to humble myself to do so.

I forgot to mention in the above post that I (Travis) and Amy have been married for 13 years and we 3 awesome children together. Our 12 year old son Gavin, 10 year old daughter Makayla and our 2 1/2 year old Dalyla. If I could ask you guys to keep them in your prayers as well, the two oldest are going through a rough time with the news and could use your comfort through prayer!
