COVID-19 Fundraiser for International Students

The Covid-19 outbreak and subsequent quarantine of communities has caused many International Students especially Nepalese students who worked in the hospitality & retial industries to lose their livelihood and income. We all are in this together and we all share each others pain!!
While waiting for Australian Govt to do something for these vulnerable students, we have also taken this initiative to raise funds on a localised level to immediately relieve the pain that is already being felt among the students. We already getting phone calls from students in desperate situation. This fund will be mobilised for immediate relief towards providing food for the affected students and may be cash in exceptional circumstances. This $20,000 is part of our Fundraising Target for Phase 1 for immediate use for relief now. Our target is $100,000 plus as part of phase 2 Fundraising in weeks ahead!!
The current Pandemic of COVID-19 crisis has highlighted the vulnerability of our Nepali International students here in Australia who had been employed in various casual jobs which no longer exist.
While there has been a global effort to manage an unfolding pandemic, this crisis has led to loss of part-time and casual jobs and massive disruption to International students education and visa status here in Australia. This has directly impacted the daily life of the Nepalese international students similar to the local domestic Australian students.
The effects of this COVID-19 crisis are especially felt among the international students as it is challenging times for them as they are especially vulnerable due to anxiety of separation from their families and loved ones and the support networks, and risk of going through depression having to deal with such unprecedented uncertainty in a foreign country.
We would like everyone to open their hearts & support this good cause. The money raised will be used for immediate relief for Nepalese International students in Australia in terms of helping towards lodging & fooding needs for them to as many students as practically possible. There are currently around 60,000 Nepali internationals students here in Australia.
