Hello friends, loved ones, and caring individuals. I've created this gofundme for a friend in fast need. My friend wishes to stay anonymous for safety reasons but has found an affordable apartment that would allow her to leave her abusive relationship. My friend has been emotionally, mentally, and physically abused for many years and sees the light at the end of the tunnel with this new apartment opportunity.

Last August her partner broke her arm resulting in her having to spend the money she had been saving. She was not able to file a full report against him because he refused to let her name be on the lease, meaning she would have had to go to the CHUM. Housing instability is something she has experienced in the past so it was very much something she was trying to avoid again. Subsequently, while her arm was healing, she had to take time off of work, losing even more income.

My friend is getting some basic living furniture and household items donated to them, but they will be escaping with only the items they can carry. As someone who works in a crisis rehabilitation center, I have witnessed time and time again that it takes a lot for a person to leave their abuser, but with the right support it can happen, and this is why I am asking for yours. I have been supporting her as much as a friend could, so now as a friend to many of you, I am asking you to share this and invite others to share this, because the more eyes that see this, the more help she can get.
