Filing Fees for Articles of Incorporation

My name is Robel Zewdie, a sophomore student at DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Every day I wake up grateful to be receiving a quality education and many opportunities for success. But it was not always like this for me. I grew up in Ethiopia, and even though I went to one of the finer institutions there the quality of education did not compare to what I am now receiving here in the United States. Before coming to the U.S. I had never even seen a computer. We did not have access to nearly as many resources back in Ethiopia. I find myself very fortunate to be in my current position.

Often, I find myself thinking of all the children who did not have the chance to go somewhere else or could not afford better schooling. I almost feel guilty for being the one to “escape”, all those children, so many being my friends. The same children that I would play in the street or schoolyard with, those children stayed behind in a country that doesn’t have the resources to give them the educational tools that not only they need, but deserve. Because of this I decided I have a responsibility to play my part in doing what I can to offer resources to schools in Ethiopia.

A group of friends (William Skelly, Eber Melchor-Martinez) and I, one of which is a relative on mine, also from Ethiopia (Yinebeb Kebede), got together to plan a way for us to help out. We are forming a 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit organization by the name of "Advancement of Ethiopian Education". We have been working hard to partner with schools in Ethiopia. Once we gain tax-exempt status with our state and with the IRS we will apply for numerous grants and partner with companies to send over technology-based school supplies to help advance the education offered to children in Ethiopia.

We oftentimes forget how fortunate we are during this extremely difficult global pandemic. Schools in Ethiopia currently do not meet online as we are right now and we want to make sure they are equipped to handle situations like the one the world is currently in. We often forget how gifted we are to be able to work, learn, and live from home. These children have lost months of schooling with no easy way to recover it.

To start up our Non-Profit there are many legal steps, with the first one being filing articles of incorporation. This fundraiser is strictly for the filing fees needed for this specific form.

Your donation will go a long way to helping students in Ethiopia who deserve a better education. Any form of assistance would be very much appreciated .

Anything helps.
