Adrian's Medical Fund

Just married, kidneys are failing him.

Adrian is 21 years old. He lives in an impoverished town in southern Mexico and is currently in a public hospital undergoing repetitive kidney dialyses. Because his kidneys never developed as a child, he is in desperate need of a new kidney as both are failing him.

Adrian has no money, only a single mother to care for him and very limited resources in Mexico. He is in dire need of your help.

This is his story:

Only a few months ago, Adrian married my sister, Fabiola. They were young sweethearts and survived a long distance relationship while she studied here in the U.S. and he lived and worked in Mexico.

When they got married in Mexico last July, they were ecstatic, full of excitement to start a life together. The only obstacle was to get Adrian over here from Mexico, as the immigration process is extremely long and tedious. In fact, he's still in Mexico.

When my sister finally got an update from the State almost a year after their wedding, everything seemed to at last be piecing together. But then, she got a call from Mexico that changed everything.

Adrian had been feeling sick for a couple weeks. He was hesistant to leave work because he only made about $140 / week working construction full-time. When he left work to see the doctor, he found out his kidneys are failing.

Apparently, neither one of his kidneys ever became fully-developed. His body was not getting appropriate filtration for years and it finally caught up to him.

He cannot work, he cannot walk, he cannot even eat comfortably as he's been prescribed a strict diet.  And, most tragically, he cannot come to the U.S. to see his wife and start the life he's been waiting years for.

The situation:

Adrian requires a kidney dialysis every three days until he gets a kidney donated. He ran out of money to pay for them after the first dialysis. We need donations now!

As mentioned, Adrian has no money, only a single mother to care for him and very limited resources in Mexico.

Because my sister is still a Dominguez Hills University student, she cannot afford to support him financially.

My family and I are doing all we can to fundraise money for his medical fund, but there is absolutely no way we can afford all of Adrian's required procedures without your help. We need you!

The dialyses are expensive. The hospital space is expensive. The diet is now expensive. And, of course, the kidney surgery, when it comes time, will be the most expensive.

Please find it in your heart to help my brother-in-law have his health back. He is a very good, hard-working man whom my sister loves very much. They have just gotten married and deserve the happy future they've been waiting for. Thank you and God bless you!
