Adrianna's "GO AWAY CANCER" Drive

Please join us in generous giving to our dear friend, Adrianna Costello-Martin, as she tells ovarian cancer to "Fu&$*Ng GO AWAY!" But seriously, Adrianna, who has touched the lives of hundreds through her work as a phenomenal childbirth educator, labor and birth doula, birth assistant, midwife student, colleague, and loyal friend, needs our help NOW. Here's the backstory on her diagnosis of Stage 3C ovarian cancer:

In June 2017 she consulted her physician and it was discovered that she had a cyst on her ovary and a uterine fibroid. Because of the size of the cyst and symptoms she was experiencing, it was recommended that she consider a hysterectomy which she ultimately decided upon. On August 16, 2017, she went in for the surgery that was thought to be routine, and the result was a diagnosis of ovarian cancer upon surgery. Oh, the shock and heartache!! I am sure this is the same any time anyone hears those fateful words, "I'm sorry but you have a carcinoma and Stage 3 cancer," meaning the cancer cells had spread beyond the ovarian cyst.

For Adrianna, this news was devastating as she had lost an aunt to the same disease years prior. And she is a mother of four, two elementary age. What you may know about Adrianna, however, is that she typically looks for the silver lining, facing adversity with a smile, while problem solving with a light heart. This instance however is a B.F.D. Big Freaking Deal. No joke! Although she has been surrounded by love, well-wishes, prayers, fantastic foods through a meal train that was started, she needs more. Her medical bills alone will be staggering, and they have already started to roll in. 

Our goal is to rally together monetary donations, however small or large, and help support her and her children as she undergoes her process of healing. In addition to her chemotherapy treatments that will start in October at Hunstman, we would love to support her in receiving complementary therapies including optimal nutrition to encourage greater recovery. It makes us weep to read all of the Go-Fund-Me stories. They are all too familiar and heartbreaking. But we are coming together to help Adrianna, one who has held the hands of birthing mothers, wiped away the sweat on their brows, instilling the confidence that they knew they could give birth, even when they thought they could not. Let's help her tell cancer to "GO AWAY!" and never come back!
