Adrian "BUTTONS" Baldwin Battles Leukemia

I will forever remember January 24, 2019,  as the worst day of our lives.  My husband, my love, my rock, the glue that holds our family of 8 together,  Adrian, "Buttons" Baldwin was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblasic Leukemia. He also has to deal with Tumor Lysis syndrome.  If you don't know, what that is, it makes the cancer more of an emergency that happens during the treatment of leukemia.  As if that weren't enough, my love fights everyday against Stage 4 Kidney disease.  Any one of these diseases is so hard to fight but having all three makes it so critical for him. 

Since January 24th, he was in Johns Hopkins Hospital for 4 weeks and I slept by his side every night. I never wanted to leave him for one minute.  I had to work to support our family, so that was the only time I left his side. He endured dialysis everyday for one week.  Buttons has had 2 sessions of chemotherapy, so far.  The doctors say he may have to have 6 more sessions to fight this evil disease. 

If you know what cancer and chemotherapy does to a person and to the family, you know how we are struggling to stay strong. This crisis has taken an unbelievable emotional toll on our family of 8.   

 When I was at one of my lowest points, I felt the like I had to share what I've been going through.

"When you're up and can't sleep because all you think about is your husband. Being strong is all I have Lord!  I wouldn't wish this pain on my enemy.  Feeling helpess is an understatement!  Knowing it's nothing that I can do but pray, love you, be a awesome wife and mother...I feel like it's not enough!  So I'm asking you Lord, to heal him inside and out from head to toe! I want to bring him home, healthy and back to normal. I don't ask for much, bu understand I would love to have him as my date everyday publically with no worries.  All my children want is for their father to be ok and come home, Lord!  Help us please!  In Jesus name I pray! Amen! I will never be in denial for who I believe and have faith in!  You may have to fight the battle more than once to win!"

I've told you what Buttons and I have been going through, but I have to tell you what our children are going through.  They struggle everyday to stay focused in class. Sometimes being around other students is a brief distraction, but nothing takes away the pain they feel knowing how their father is hurting.  Even during their moments of celebration, the dark cloud of their father's daily fight stays with them.

Any help you provide will help us to focuse on Button's getting well and fighting this wicked disease called cancer.
