Adoption for Eli

In 2016, my nephew Elijah was removed from his home and placed into foster-care. My brother, Rick, immediately petitioned for guardianship of Elijah and has had him in his care since then. The last two years have been incredibly difficult for the 2 as it is not only an additional traumatic event for Eli but a life altering event for Rick. Despite the difficulty, Rick has relentlessly pursued his education, career, and parental duties all as a young adult and single person with very little support. Just this year, Rick bought a home and even changed jobs so that he could provide Eli with a more balanced life and home environment. 
Rick has taken on a great challenge and has managed to overcome most all of the challenges associated but it has come with great emotional and financial challenges and even debt. What we once believed was temporary has now been deemed as permanent by the judge, Elijah will be adopted by Rick. The adoption process is not only stressful and time consuming but very expensive.  I am placing a call to action to all of those that care for Rick and Eli. Will you please take a moment to invest in the future of 7 year old Eli? The funds raised will be used to navigate the adoption process as well as cover attorney fees and associated charges. Rick has committed to something that many of us can't begin to imagine and is now preparing to deviate from his life plan to raise a little boy who needs a permanent home and role model. Rick has made a sacrifice that we can all respect.
