Adoption Assistance for the Maldonados

Hello. This is a fundraiser that we are putting into place to help Carmel and Jimmy adopt this sweet little boy. Jr is the biological son of a family member who no longer wants to be his parent. Carmel and Jimmy have been raising Jr basically since he was just about a year old and JR has lived with them since July 2022 exclusively. Carmel and Jimmy have had temporary custody of this sweet child since December 2022 and, by the Grace of God and the order of the local courts, have been granted the right to petition for legal and full adoption. Jr has called them Mommy and Daddy for close to a year and that is exactly what they have been to him. They have raised him through Jimmy's knee surgeries and recovery, and Carmel's severe back ailments, which are immobilizing at times, and they have never looked back. Every time the road got hard or the path did not seem clear, Carmel would say, "I just have to keep praying and trust that God has this and has Jr".

And He did.

Now, I am asking for assistance from people who know this beautiful little family to help them legally be united. If you know them well, you know most of the story and have seen this child thrive in their care. And, If you know either Carmel or Jimmy at all, you know what wonderful parents they are already and will continue to be for Jr. We are asking for enough money to cover the Attorney retainer, other court costs, and paperwork filings that will need to take place to complete this adoption.
