On May 23rd 2014, I traveled with Northeast Church of Braselton to Peru, South America. We visited several villages while there and spent a lot of time at the New Life Children's Home in Cieneguilla. I fell in love with the country, and with the children. It was very hard to leave, as I felt like I was leaving a piece of my heart there. I came home, shared my experiences with my husband Dar, and we immediately began to talk about adoption.
We have talked and prayed, and spoken with others who have been through the international adoption process. We know this is not an easy road, but with counsel and with much prayer, we have decided that this is the road for us.
We are asking for your help. Our house is not big enough, and our pocketbook is not big enough, but when I pointed that out to a dear friend, her reply was, "But your heart is big enough." And we also believe our God is big enough. As another friend pointed out, "I've never known you to do things the easy way," and on that note, we are pursuing the adoption of not just one child, but a sibling group. So we are seeking your help to cover the cost of adding onto our two-bedroom house, as well as the cost of the adoption itself.
We will be holding many fundraisers, including yard sales, barbeques, concerts, doughnut sales, etc., to raise the funds we will need to proceed. We are blessed that Dar has spent 20 years in construction, and we have precious family and friends who have offered their labor to help us work on the house, so all we have to come up with is the cost of the materials, saving us many thousands of dollars.
Every donation will go into an account set up to pay for building materials and monies we will owe to the adoption agency, to facilitate the adoption process. No amount is too small or too large, and we covet your prayers most of all. Thank you in advance for anything you can do to help, and God Bless!
