I am a military wife, passionate about supporting the brave men and women who have been called to serve our country.
Now, with the help of my office, a local Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, I am trying to raise money quarterly to adopt units that are currently deployed. Now more than ever, with military budget cuts, they need food, hygiene supplies, and to have a little piece of home sent to them!
All donations will go toward buying the supplies & shipping costs.

MY STORY
In 2010 as a new wife sending my husband overseas was one of the hardest things I have ever faced. What I found so surprising was that even in 2010 before big Military budget cuts, the food and access to basic hygiene items was very limited. I made a decision in that moment that I would do whatever I could to get my husband at least two care packages from home a month while he was deployed (12 months).
Several months later my husband told me that he was “giving away” some of the items I was sending. I was initially appalled that he would do such a thing after all of my effort and he calmly said to me “Laura, not everyone over here has family and support back home to get packages from”. OK, he really said, not everyone has a “crazy wife” but that is beside the point. My mother and I started sending over larger and larger boxes for his entire unit to share. I didn’t think twice about it until they came home and at their welcome home party one of his soldiers came up to thank me and tell me how much the boxes meant and that they always looked forward to GI’s (my husband) boxes, because we sent the best stuff”.
I want every soldier to know that feeling of getting something from home!
