Adopt a Christmas Kid!
Let's help some kids in need have a great Christmas!
Last year we adopted a few "Christmas Kids". All were teenagers in foster care or group homes that were considered high risk not to receive much by way of gifts. This year I asked for help from friends and coworkers so we could adopt more children, and the response has been overwhelming.
This issue with the drastic amount of responses? It's super unorganized, and I can't keep up! A wonderful problem to have, really. So my thought is this- for people who would prefer to donate money, I'll do the shopping and post updates here of how many kids we were able to adopt.
Prefer to shop for yourself? DO IT! Any type of involvement is great. Are you a master deal-seeker? You do your thing friend, and I'll reimburse you with this fund. Crazy couponer folk- get down with your bad selves! I'll use excess funds to buy practical personal care items. You don't need no stinkin' cash to help out!
You crafty? Craft me some stockings or fun personalized things as we identify more kids that we can get gifts for.
Prefer to not be involved but cheer from the sidelines? Hey, you gotta do you and hit a "share" button or whatever your little heart desires.
Worried about that scared as hell baby in the cover photo? Don't be, he's mine and he's fine now.
But seriously everyone, thanks for your awesome responses. As of right now we have four kids to shop for, but as I receive items to fulfill their lists I'll get more and update on here as it progresses. At the end of the Christmas season I'll see if we can sponsor a pizza night in a group home or something similar. The money collected here will be used 100% on kids in need in Pennsylvania.
