A Seizure Dog for Sammie Grace

Donation protected
Our 3 year old daughter Samantha has been dealing with seizures since she was a few weeks old. In the last year Sammie's seizures have caused her multiple hospital stays due to several prolonged seizures. Back in March she spent 20 days in the hospital with a 4 hour seizure that couldn't get controlled. This was followed five days later by a two hour seizure. Most of Sam's seizures happen when she is sleeping which makes it really hard for us to sleep peacefully. We often have to use suction by the time we can get it under control due to excess drooling. We have strongly felt that God has lead us in the direction of a seizure dog to be able to alert us when Sam goes into a seizure. The faster we are able to respond, the fast we can get her medicine to try to get it stopped or call for medical assistance. Sam also has cerebral palsy, shunted complex hydrocephalus, agenesis of the corpus callosum and dandy walker syndrome. Since Sam is still not walking, the dog will also be trained to assist with her mobility. A service dog would mean peace for our family and independence for Sammie Grace. It has taken us months to decided on an agency but we feel very strongly that God has sent us to the right one for this part of Sam's Journey.
