My Volunteer Excursion to East Africa!

Jambo! That is "Hello" in Swahili! As many of you know, my dream has been to work with those less fortunate than myself. It has taken me 28 years to step outside of my comfort zone and decide to make a difference. I am ready! I will be living and working in Arusha, Tanzania for 3 months, beginning January 2015 (just 6 months away) *YIKES* I will be volunteering full time in an Orphanage and my job will consist of childcare, teaching English, feeding and caring for the kids, and anything else that is needed for children that don't have parents. I am unsure what this experience will be like, but I do know that I have a lot of love to give and that I am ready for this challenge! All of this costs money. In addition to volunteering my time, I am responsible for paying for the infrastructure and safety net of working for a well respected volunteer organization. The anticipated cost for my 3 months in Africa is $4500. This includes my airfare, housing, meals, clean water, program fees, immunizations and visas. I also hope to have a little extra money to buy supplies while I am there, for the orphanage and children that have so little. I am asking for the help of my family, co-workers, family members and anyone else who feels inclined to help. I am actively saving, but $4500 is too much for me to save in the time that I have.
