Adigrat Libraries Book Project

Dear family and friends,

I hope this finds you well! We are calling on behalf of a new book donation drive that we are leading to restalk update the deteriorating book collection of four public libraries in Adigrat. Few months ago, we noticed a handful young fellows in Adigrat launching a book donation drive to address the acute shortage of reference and text books in the four public libraries of Adigrat. The libraries are shockingly neglected and marginalized due to budgetary constraints and inadequate reference materials. This is contributing to the gross decline of education quality and the overall social condition in the town. We belive that the current condition is possible to solve with a concerted effort of all Tigreans in the diaspora. It is unsettling to hear that some of the libraries such as the one around Endabuzu (01 Kebele) are either closed or nearly to cease service due to shortage of books and references. This makes our effort more important than any time ever. Our book donation drive launched under the mobilizing notion of AGAME SCHOOLS ALUMNI FRATERNITY CLUB has yielded a good result and now we have raised 3 container full of books (about 30,000 books each) ready to be shipped to Tigrai. The initial plan is to ship one container to Adigrat and offer the other two containers to any part of Tigrai on request. This being as it may, one problem is standing between us and the shipping process, and the beast in the house is lack of money. Our donors and shipping companies have provided a price quote approximately of $16,700 for each container. With this information in mind, we are inviting you to collaborate with us by donating the shipping cost for one container so we will be able to deliver the books to the libraries in a reasonably shortest period of time. We need financial assistance from every concerned Tigraway to cover the shipping cost. Regardless of whether your contribution, we appreciate your timeless commitment and dedication for Tigrai. But let’s be clear that our libraries do not belong to the situation they are going through at this time. We would like to demonstrate how your funding will change many lives and improve quality of education in our land. When you consider to support this project by contributing towards  the shipping cost of one container, you have to know how much valuable the money you are putting on this service. You are not giving just money, but you are giving life to the libraries that are descending down the terrains of complete loss. Indeed, the money you put on this project will make you proud. Above all, it is one of the best things we can do to our fellow brothers and sisters back home.

ኣብ ትግራይ ዝርከባ ኣብያተ መፃሕፍቲ ዘለወን ፀገም መፃሕፍቲ ብምቕራፍ ፅሬት ትምህርቲ ንምርግጋፅ ዝዓለመ ወፍሪ ብግዱሳት ወገናት እናተሳለጠ ይርከብ። እዚ ወፍሪ ምስ ምኽባር በዓል መስቀል 2012 ብምትእስሳር ኣብ ዓዲ ዝነብሩ መናእሰይ ዘበገስዎ ሓሳብ መሰረት ገይሩ ዝጀመረ እንትኸውን ኣድማስ ናይቲ ሰናይ ተግባር ብምስፋሕ ኣብ ሓፈሻዊ ኩነታት ስርዓት ትምህርቲ ትግራይ ለውጢ ከምፅእ ብዝኽእለሉ መልክዑ እናካየድናዮ ፀኒሕና። ከም ውፅኢት ናይቲ ክሳብ ሐዚ ዝተገብረ ፃዕሪ ድማ ካብ ገበርቲ ሰናይን ለገስቲን ብድምር ካብ 90,000 ዝዛይድ መፃሕፍቲ （ነንሕድሕደን ክሳብ 30,000 መፃሕፍቲ ናይ ምሓዝ ዓቕሚ ኣብ ዘለወን ኮንቴነራት ተዓሺጉ）ረኺብና ኣለና። ኣብዚ ሐዚ ሰዓት ሰለስቲኡ ኮንቴነር ምልኣኽ ዝሓቶ መጠን ገንዘብ ብድምር （ከባቢ $48,000 ገፁ  ዝፅጋዕ እንትኸውን） ንምልኣኽ ዝሓቶ ዓቕሚ ከቢድ ስለዝኾነ ንግዜኡ ሓንቲ ኮንቴነር （ማለት እውን ናብ 30,000 ዝፅጋዕ መፃሕፍትን መወከሲታትን） ጥራሕ ንምስዳድ ትልሚ ሒዝና ኣለና። ከም መጀመሪ፣ እቲ ሐዚ ክለኣኽ ተዳልዩ ዘሎ መፃሕፍቲ ብቐጥታ ኣብ ዓዲግራት ናብ ዝርከባ ኣርባዕተ ኣብያተ መፃሕፍቲ ዝለኣኽ እንትኸውን ንቐፃሊ እውን ከከም ኣድላይነቱ እናተራኣየ ናብ ካልኦት ኣብያተ ትምህርቲ እውን ምልኣኽ ይከኣል እዩ። እተን ዝተረፋ ክልተ ኮንቴነራት እውን ናይ መጋዓዓዚ ወፃኢ ሸፊኑ ክልእኽ ዝደሊ ኣካል እንተተረኺቡ ናብ ዝኾነ ይኹን ኩርናዕ ትግራይ ንምስዳድ ሙሉእ ፍቓደኝነት ከምዘሎና ክንሕብር ንፎቱ። ንሐዚ ግን ንመልኣኺ ሓንቲ ኮንቴነር ቀዳምነት ብምሃብ ነዚ ዝውዕል ናይ ገንዘብ ሓገዝ ንሓትት ኣለና። ስለዚ ኣብ ምፍታሕ ኩለመዳያዊ ፀገማት ሕብረተሰብና ኣብ እንገብሮ ፃዕሪ ነዘን መፃሕፍቲ ናብቲ ዝተመደበለን ቦታ ምልኣኽ ምእንታን ኽከኣል ብወገንኩም/ን ዝከኣለኩም መጠን ገንዘብ ብምውፋይ ክትሕግዙ/ዛ ንፅውዕ።
