Adiela's Angels

Donation protected

Three year old Adiela was receiving her nightly bath on Friday July 14, 2017 when her mommy, Dyann, noticed a bump in Adiela’s stomach. Dyann, and daddy Jesse, had a close friend perform an ultrasound that evening and were recommended that she go to Childrens’ Hospital ER in Dallas. July 16, after running many blood tests and scans, Lela had a diagnosis—hepatoblastoma. Cancer of the liver.

The type of cancer Lela has is aggressive and rare. It has already spread into both of her little lungs. Many people wonder, “How did it advance so quickly? Did she have symptoms?” This little angel was healthy.

On July 18, Adiela underwent a liver biopsy and had a port (a type of access) put in her chest to start chemotherapy the following day. This nightmare is just beginning for this young family.

Dyann works at Navarro College in Waxahachie; she wears many hats there. One of her roles is teaching EMS students the art of saving lives. Jesse works for AAFES, a company dedicated to serving the military men and women in all branches of service. They also have a 1 year old son, Micah, who is just learning to walk. This young family is so precious, they have hearts of gold, and love both of their kids so much.

This new path they are on will be treacherous. No one wants to watch a young child suffer in the hands of cancer. As many of you know, cancer can be unforgiving, unkind, unfair, and ultimately heartbreaking. This family needs to be raised up in prayers and in thought.

This precious angel is going to need a miracle. This family has a lot of faith in God and understands that the time we have with loved ones is on borrowed time. I think our faith is what is holding this family together. Faith in the Lord that He may have mercy on Adiela and that she suffers as little as possible. I plead you to help in any way you can. This sweet family would appreciate any help toward the cost of this diagnosis.

Updates will be given as Lela starts chemotherapy. Her mom created a blog as well: https://teamadiela.wordpress.com/

Her parents have signed up to be a part of a study to help further understand this type of aggressive cancer and perhaps help future children. Even in their darkest hour, they want to use this dreadful experience to help others. Please think of them often. Adiela is a sweet toddler with a love for life. A happy little girl who loves her family with all heart.
