Our girls have spent the past 10.5 months in a wonderful orphanage in Nashik, India. I visited them once in January and have spent the past few days there as well. Their staff makes up of almost 100 amazing caretakers, doctors, social workers and teachers who love these kids as if they were their own. Adharashram is a highly respected institution in the area (one of the reasons our adoption went so quickly was because they have been doing this for many years!) and are very good at what they do. Our girls have been loved, played with, fed, and are very happy here which makes us so thankful to be a part of the Adharashram family.
We have been fortunate enough to fund this entire adoption ourselves, but have had many people ask if there is any additonal help they can give.
We would love to be able to make a large donation to the orphanage. They are a recognized charity in India and need help paying for food, school, supplies and their caretakers as they care for over 100 children of which over 20 are currently waiting to be adopted! We will be donating a large chunk ourselves and have already collected money from a few others. Here is the link about the orphanage and how the money will be used.

An example is that it costs $45 for a girl to go to school for a year or it costs $30 to buy milk for the whole orphanage for a day. After discussions with the orphange director, we learned that our goal of $1,500 would cover nearly a month of orphanage expenses.
I normally don't like these fundraisers, but we feel completely indebted to these wonderful people and know many of you who have wanted to pitch in.
