Adelyne Perkins turned 4 years old December 7th, 2016. That same month Addy was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation type 1. Chiari Malformation is a condition in which brain tissue extends into your spinal canal. It occurs when part of your skull is abnormally small or misshapen, pressing on your brain and forcing it downward. To fix this she will need to undergo a "decompression" surgery on February 23rd, 2017.
The recovery after having a surgery like this can be up to three weeks. My Mom will be home with her the entire time while Addy deals with the headaches and healing. We're asking for some help with medical expenses and the time Mom will need to take off work to be with her. Any little bit helps and we would really appreciate if you could send good vibes our way during the whole process. This is going to be a hard time for my little sister but she will be surrounded by love through her journey.
