Harvey Flood Relief for Adeli Family

Can you imagine losing everything you have, in a blink of an eye? Elham, Saeed, and their two beautiful and lovely daughters, Sara and Donya, evacuated and left all they had, moments before their home was flooded on Monday, August 28.

With a heavy heart and in an effort to rebuild a life, I am starting this campaign on behalf of my sister, Elham, and her lovely family with a lot of hope to find big-hearted and generous human-beings like you. As a student, I couldn’t find any other way to help my sister and my brother-in-law with their urgent need of help, except sharing their story with the aim of collecting $25K as the flood relief fund (out of $60K-$80K estimated damage).

As of Friday September 1, their home is still under high-water and flood (approximately 20”-24” throughout the home). When water level dropped in most of places in Houston, they didn’t see any difference in their neighborhood. It’s expected to see water slowly receding by late-Friday, according to the Harris county Fire department [1]. The higher the level of water and the longer it remains in their house, the more damage the flood leaves.

After changing their towns for a few times, they selected Houston area as their destination where Saeed could find a pretty decent job in his expertise, oil and gas. As soon as they settled in Katy, TX, they started living on a tighter budget to save for a downpayment to buy a house they could raise their children in. They bought their house 3 years ago.It quickly became a lovely home for kids and relaxed, warm, gathering place for family and friends. Now, they feel they entirely lost everything they have made in a heartbeat.

They filed for FEMA relief fund and they optimistically expect $10K-$15K [2]. It means that they have to pay $45,000-$70,000 out of their pocket. This $25K quick relief fund help them get back on their feet and starts rebuilding their house.

Where they are still insecure, confused, and emotionally fragile, this campaign is a set-up to help them find their confidence, know they are not alone, and have financial support to rebuild and get their home and family back together. Hopefully with your help, they can try to get back to some sense of normality within a reasonable amount of time. Please donate what you can and your donations will go directly 100% to their healing and recovery of what they have so suddenly lost.

My name is Iman Naziri from Charlotte, North Carolina. I am running this campaign for my beloved sister and deeply appreciate your contributions and donations and am grateful for your compassion, kindness, and humanity. I urge you to share this campaign on social media with your friends and in your communities.

They carefully selected their stuff and furniture. But they couldn’t save the furniture as it was a one-story building:

Tired and wet Sara and Donya after 30 minutes walk in a chest-high water. The family are waiting for their friends to pick them up.

Sara is a talented painter but most of her work (painting collection) is destroyed.

They couldn't save Donya's favorite buddy, the big pooh :(
