Many people have been asking what they can get us for our wedding, and, well, we know that just telling you that we don't need anything wasn't the most inspiring thing for your generous hearts to hear. But, we honestly and deeply want to make our wedding a service to all of you and to a place that many of us call home. So, we thought to invite all of you to contribute to something concrete and substantial that would also be very meaningful to us personally. We hope that giving here will be as exciting and inspiring for you as it has been for us to plan and make this request.
Very recently, a beautiful roof deck has been constructed at the Bhakti Center for our friends, guests, and community to host roof-top dinners, yoga-classes, private events, catering, seminars and workshops. With the completion of this deck, there still remains a further opportunity to enhance the quality of experience for everyone. By installing an appropriate tent, proper shade and protection can be provided for anyone utilizing the space during the summer months (or any time when our unpredictable New York City weather starts acting up).
The project is quite costly and outside the range of normal budgeting and cost expenditures. However, if it can be completed, it has the potential to facilitate many future events and programs that can create greater financial strength and sustainability, as well as a space for the community to grow.
We would like to take the opportunity of our wedding to request and invite you to donate, as a gift for our marriage, towards this special project. Our hope would be to complete the project by the time of our wedding so that we can give comfortable roof-top dining to friends and family and leave a permanent offering for many years to come.
Our goal is $10,000 by July 4th weekend. Everything is helpful and no amount is too small.
