I've been presented with a HUGE opportunity to showcase my work to over 450,000 visitors to Essence Festival this year! YES! I have finally have an opportunity to share my work with thousands outside of the east coast! This trip is going to be costly and with relocating to Charlotte, NC (opening up my physical studio this year), normal adult problems (bills, student loans, car trouble .. ) I need some help to get me to Essence Festival! July 5th - 9th I'll be in New Orleans showcasing and selling my art and designs to thousands of people. This is an opportunity of a lifetime!! Even before Girl's Trip arrived to theater, showcasing my work at Essence Festival was a huge goal. I didn't have a timeframe on that goal, but I knew I had to do it. The time has come!!! I am beyond mentally ready to show the world what I've been working on for years.
This is the story...
My name is Adrienne "Addie Rawr" Randle and I’m a full time artreprenuer. That's right, I spend my days and nights creating designs for my product line, paintings for my personal collections, logo designs for clients and branding material for small businesses. As of right now Art & Ambition (my design company) has one employee.. little ole' me! I do it all! Book the events, manage all social media accounts, paint and design, package all orders and overlook inventory. I also write blogs for a few websites, along with my own AddieRawr.com , where I share tips, insightful and transparent stories of experiences while being an artist. I'm swamped usually but never seem to complain about doing exactly what I love to do everyday! Over the years I've been able to vendor at over 50 events, be a part of RAW Natural Born Artist, complete a project in partner with Refinery29 and Adidas, have my work shared with AfroPunk and make the Blavity HQ home to a special painting from my collection.
In 2015 I took a leap and started to work part time only so that I could focus on my art & designs full time. I begin to add a line of products into my shop including cards, mugs, notebooks, passport covers and more. For the past few years I've been working as a freelance artist, creating personal illustrations, logo designs, graphics, and paintings for clients all over the US (& UK).
The end of 2017 I made a big decision to leave my part time job in April 2018 and relocate to Charlotte, NC to open my first physical studio location. This studio will give me a dedicated place to house my art collection, host events and workshops and met in person with clients. Art & Ambition studio has been in the works for a year now and I worker harder than ever to make sure it's everything I've ever needed in a space that I can use and share with others.
How You Can Help
Now I need your help! The cost to travel to New Orleans for 5 days, taking my paintings and products down to Essence Festival is pretty large. I've opened up more spaces for commission work and have been working with negotiating pricing for previous clients. With personal life mishaps and bills piling up I'm exhausting every savings account I've had to get things together for Essence. Your donation will help go towards my travel expenses, shipping my items down to New Orleans, and art supplies. I will be needing to get enough merchandise to sell for a 3 full day event and supplies to create paintings specifically for Essence Festival.I am paying for the booth fee of over $2000 upfront which was due immediately after finding out I was accepted as a vendor. Your donation no matter how much means the world to me! Every cent, dollar and well wishes will help me get to take a major trip to expand and grow Art & Ambition. This is another big step for me being an artrepreneur! I will be able to expand my customer bases and meet hundreds of potential clients.
