Adapt manual to electric wheelchair

My Mum has been in a wheelchair since she was a Mum of two at the very young age of 25.
27 years of continued, manual wheelchair use combined with fibromyalgia means she is in constant, chronic pain and is unable to wheel around for any length of time. This means she is unable to go out of the house without my Dad to push her.
The NHS will not provide an electric wheelchair to alleviate the pain and allow my Mum the independence of going outside without my Dad.
The solution would be for us to pay for an adaptation for the manual wheelchair to add a battery and joystick to move around. The Benoit Light Drive is made to measure to fit the chair. It is light when compared to equivalent priced an electric wheelchairs, means that my poor old Dad will be able to lift the chair in and out of the boot of the car.
The Benoit Light Drive would allow my Mum ability to go outside of the house without my Dad, which may sound like small but would massively improve her quality of life.
