Help me represent Canada!

For those who don't know me, my name is Adam Volpe and I'm a very dedicated, positive, and successful person with a passionate love for the martial arts. I have trained and been involved in the Martial Arts as a child and teenager, mostly training in Hap Ki Do in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario under the guidance and direction of Master John Reid. I found Martial Arts again about 4 years ago and currently train in Shaolin 5 Animal Kung Fu under the guidance and direction of a fantastic team of instructors in Waterloo. I hold the current rank of Blue Sash (hoping to test for my Brown Sash this fall).

UPDATE: I successfully graded for and earned my Brown Sash on Sept 12, 2015. .

 I live in Waterloo, Ontario. I am also a husband and a very proud father of 2 young children who both also train in the martial arts.

I recently was re-introduced to the world of Martial Arts Tournaments and have reached and exceeded goals in competition which has led me to move further in competing and placing, and earned a spot on the Canadian National team to represent Canada on November 8-13 in the 2015 WKC World Championships.

My goal is to raise $2800 to help fund the cost of travel, uniforms, and amenities during my stay for the event. It is an honour to be able to represent my country and getting assistance with these expenses will help my training and with an easier transition for the competition.

I'll be competing in Continuous Sparring, Point Sparring and Forms.

I first qualified at the Ontario Regional qualifiers. The result of that tournament was:

1st - Forms

2nd - Weapon Forms

2nd - Sparring

That allowed me the opportunity to represent my school and Ontario at the WKC Canadian nationals held in Ottawa on May 14/15/16, 2015.

At the nationals, I earned the following:

1st in Forms

3rd in Point Sparring

4th in Continuous Sparring

6th in Weapons Forms

With this, I have been invited to represent Canada at the 2015 WKC World Championships being held in Orlando Florida.

This journey has been a great one so far and I look forward to the opportunity to represent our country.
