Mission trip to train pastors in Nepal
Many Christian leaders around the world haven’t had the privilege of the biblical education I've received. With your help, I’m hoping to be part of the solution.
This May I’m planning on flying to central Asia, to the nation of Nepal.
I’ll be traveling with two other pastors and serving an organization called World Hope Ministries International (WHMI). This ministry hosts 50 Bible Institutes around the world each year, providing theological education to more than 5,000 pastors each year. They're training pastors in these remote areas so the gospel can continue to go forth. And now, I have an opportunity to be part of this amazing program.

In Nepal, I’ll have the privilege of training pastors who will equip their saints for the work of ministry...all in a place that desperately needs solid Christian leaders.
Upon arriving in Nepal, we’ll travel to the city of Itahari where we’ll teach for four days, 10-12 hours per day, to a group of at least 100 pastors. Then we’ll fly to Kathmandu to teach for another four days, 10-12 hours per day, to another group of 100+ pastors. My portion of the training will be a course on a biblical theology of worship, which is particularly important for those in a Hindu and Buddhist context. Besides teaching these two Bible Institutes, we’ll likely have opportunity to preach in local churches as well.
Nepal is quite cut off from access to theological education, but with your help that can change.
The total cost of the trip is about $2,700 which covers airfare, housing, food, and transportation. This is very affordable considering how far we’re traveling. All told, I’ll spend nearly 40 hours on an airplane! It's all worth it, though, knowing that we'll be training up a large group of disciple-makers in this spiritually dark place.
One exciting aspect of this trip is that I'll be travelling with a good friend, Kevin Rees. He's a small groups pastor at a nearby church in our community and he has taught with World Hope in the past. By travelling with him, I'll gain valuable insight into teaching these courses, so I'll be well-prepared should I have more opportunities like this in the future.
Would you consider praying for this ministry trip?
Please pray that God would allow me, and the two pastors I’ll be serving with, to be effective in training these Nepali pastors.
And pray that God would provide safe travel, without delay, so our time with the Nepali pastors is not hindered.
