Adam & Wendy Buyar- In Daltons Memory

Donation protected

On Christmas Eve morning Dalton lost his fight for life at the young age of 22. He was in his mom’s arms, surrounded by so many people who loved him.

Dalton suffered from Severe Aplastic Anemia since he was young. He received 2 transplants in his short time here. The first transplant was when the family lived in Moose Jaw, where his mom spent over 8 months at the Ronald McDonald house.
They then relocated to Lacombe where his first transplant failed, literally on the 3 year mark.

When Wendy first started to organize markets for the Lacombe area, Dalton received his second transplant. She spent months at the hospital by his side, travelling to Lacombe on Wednesdays for markets, and returning to Calgary in the evenings.

Then Ecoli hit him hard and the failure of the second transplant started, and he has battled this at least four times in the last year. About 2 months ago Dalton made the firm decision that he wasn’t willing to do another transplant. Two weeks ago the Ecoli returned and his health started to deteriorate rapidly, losing his fight for life on Christmas Eve Morning.

The family has not left his side and he was never alone for the last few weeks. The family is now faced with a lot of extra debt from the last few months of not being able to work and loss of wages.

Wendy is a very active member in the Community of Lacombe, and is always volunteering to help others in need.

We can’t take away the devastating pain this family is suffering, but we can help ease their stress of day to day life, allowing them to grieve together as a family.
