<div>Ada was born in April 2025 and 6 weeks later was diagnosed with neuroblastoma - a rare childhood cancer. As her parents, we were utterly heartbroken. To make matters worse, the genetic makeup of Ada’s primary tumour meant that her cancer is stage 4, the most aggressive with a longer, much tougher treatment plan.

<div>So far Ada has been a true warrior and received 8 chemotherapies, surgery to remove her tumour, high dose chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant. Her oncology response has been very good, however the side effects of the high dose chemotherapy has led to a 7 month hospital stay at Great Ormond Street to treat a stomach ulcer, liver issues, a collapsed lung, a lymphatic fluid leak and much more.

<div>Spending over half her life at hospital has been extremely tough but everyday she continues to show immeasurable strength to keep battling.

<div>Ada is looking at her final treatment blocks, immunotherapy and radiotherapy which we pray, will lead her to remission.

<div>After that, things becomes more complicated. Ada’s cancer has a chance of relapsing and in those cases, prognosis becomes considerably less favourable. The aggressive nature of the cancer means that we will always be monitored and we want to do everything we can to ensure this cancer does not return after Ada has battled so hard.

<div>A drug called DFMO (eflornithine / Iwilfin) can be used as a maintenance therapy to reduce her chance of a relapse. This drug is not licensed or routinely funded on the NHS, but has been available to other families through an access programme up until last month and in other areas of the world.
</div>

<div>The free Expanded Access Programme (EAP) was unexpectedly closed at the end of April. Access to this drug is now up in the air with no agency being able to direct us to how to access this drug for Ada in a few months time - but we do expect to have to raise the funds to pay for this ourselves.
</div>

<div>That is why we are asking for donations, fundraising and support in raising awareness of this drug and making it available for children like Ada to give them the best chance of a future.
</div>
