Valerie Johnson, daughter of Kent Johnson and Kellie (Wunder) Johnson, was born on Sunday August 20, 2017 via emergency cesarean. She was taken to the NICU where they worked on her oxygen levels and discovered a heart defect- "Tetralogy of Fallot" (essentially an obstructed pulmonary valve and a hole in the heart) they decided to transfer her to Greenville. In Greenville her oxygen would still not stabilize so they had to fly her via plane to MUSC in Charleston. While at MUSC they performed an urgent surgery to place a stent in her pulmonary valve to help with her oxygen levels- stent placement was successful but there were a few complications creating another hurdle for this sweet baby! They will hold off on repairing her heart until she's older (4-6 months) and can handle the procedure. In the mean time they are keeping Valerie in the PCICU until she gets more stable. Then she will be moved to another unit in the hospital until she's healthy enough to go home. Kellie and Kent are currently with baby Valerie in Charleston. Anything you can contribute to them financially will be a huge blessing, but more than anything please pray for this sweet baby girl and her parents- they need all the prayers you can offer up ❤️
